Broome
Red dirt, big tides, beaches, camels and sunsets

Broome is hot, dusty and a little rough around the edges, which is why we love it!

You’ve got Cable Beach for swims, crocodiles, rodeos, camel-riding sunsets, red cliffs out at James Price Point, epic swimming spots like Coconut Well, and thrilling 4WD spots in the Dampier Peninsula.

3-4 days there is a sweet spot if you're in a 2WD.

But if you're in a 4WD, consider adding 2-3 days for exploring (and even camping out bush) at James Price Point or Dampier!

Good to know:

  • 4WD opens up heaps of cool spots, but 2WD will still get you around town

  • The red dust gets into everything!

  • Best time to visit is May to Sept (dry season)

  • Avoid in wet season, lots of tropical storms so it's hot and the humidity is really uncomfortable

  • Bring your own gear if you want to camp off-grid

  • Check tide times, they can swing 9–10 metres and totally change the beaches
