This spot’s famous for the stingrays that cruise right up to the shore! They’re wild but used to people, so they might get close to you.

We recommend gonig there in the early morning as its calmer.

If you're visiting later in the day, consider walking a bit down the beach for the best experience, people tend to gather around the jetty to see them up close.

Why it’s worth checking out (apart from the stingrays!):

  • Easy beach access, no hike in

  • Clear, calm water for kayaking and snorkelling

  • Several shipwrecks around to check out

  • Solid fishing

Know before going:

  • Stingray sightings aren’t guaranteed, but mornings are your best bet

  • DO NOT touch or feed them. We touched one and we reckon it was a big risk (also apparently it's harmful for the stingray, we had no idea)

  • Gets busy on weekends and school holidays, especially in summer

  • Car park right near the sand, short walk to the water
