The trail takes you up a big granite dome with a cave halfway and wild views at the top.

It’s a bit of a scramble but the views are absolutely unreal! You can see the whole coastline, Cape Le Grand beaches, and even the Recherche Archipelago on a clear day.

Just avoid it in high wind or rain, it gets slippery. Although we did climb in light rain and had a lovely rainbow! It is really up to you what you are comfortable with.

About the hike:

  • Return hike, 3km long

  • Takes anywhere between 1-3 hours depending on your pace and how many photos you take

  • Class 5, the trail is well-marked but very steep, exposed, and smooth surfaces so watch your footing

  • There's a really cool giant cave near the top, which is a great stop to cooldown

  • Spot wildflowers when in season

  • Bring a drink or snack to enjoy at the top

Know before going:

  • National park entry fees apply

  • 45 mins from Esperance, car park is here

  • Not suitable for small kids or if it’s wet (slippery granite no fences)

  • Bring water, hat, snacks and good shoes
