Standing at a massive 65 metres high, the Bicentennial is the only lookout tree you can climb ATM (up to the first platform, 20 metres high).

We climbed the whole thing back when it was open to the public and it was CRAZY, but sooo worth it! If you have the nerve for heights, definitely go for it.

Know before going:

  • There's a great picnic area here with tables and BBQs, making it a good spot for lunch.

  • The climb to the very top is closed, but it is open to the first viewing platform.

  • The climb is still physically demanding and not for those with a fear of heights.

  • The tree is in Warren National Park, entry fees apply.

  • It's about a 15-minute drive from Pemberton town proper.

  • Wear sturdy, enclosed shoes with good grip. Don't even think about climbing in thongs.

  • Avoid climbing in wet or windy weather as the pegs can get slippery.
