Drive to the northernmost village of Sandvik and take the mountain road. You'll come across a gate that you can open yourself—just be sure to close it after you pass through. Continue driving until you reach the end of the road. Be cautious, as this is an off-road path with many stones and potholes, so drive slowly to avoid damaging your car.

If you'd rather not take the risk, you can park your car just before the gate. However, make sure you park in a spot that doesn't interfere with the farmer's access. If there’s no available space due to other tourists, it’s best to return to the village and park there instead. From the gate, walk the bumpy road, once you rech the end of the road, you can hike up the mountain to reach the famous wooden bridge. That path is marked, so it should be fairly easy to find it.

Important: Do not cross the bridge if you're afraid of heights or if it’s too windy. You can explore further up or down the trail—the views are breathtaking, with tall cliffs and the sea stack Ásmundarstakkur in the background. It's easy to lose track of time in such a beautiful place, so make sure you don’t miss the ferry back to Tórshavn. 😊
