The Valley of the Seven Lakes is what alpine hiking dreams are made of — crystal-clear lakes, dramatic limestone peaks, and high mountain meadows that feel like they belong in a fairytale. This loop hike winds deep into the heart of Triglav National Park. Depending on your route, expect a very strenuous full-day hike of around 10-15 miles with 3,000-4,000 feet of elevation gain.
This area is also dotted with mountain huts, like Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih, where you can stop for a meal or even overnight if you’re turning the hike into a 2-day trek (as many do). It’s not just one of the most scenic hikes in Slovenia — it’s a full alpine experience. Be sure to bring plenty of water, layers, and a camera — you’ll want to remember this one.
