Reykjanestá literally translates to the "toe of Reykjanes" and is the northwestern tip of the peninsula. Located just 30 minutes from the airport it's the perfect spot to visit right after you land. There you have epic sea stacks, a giant rock in the ocean a bit further out, a small cave with views out to the ocean and more. My favourite time to visit is during big storms or the day after one, then you typically have huge waves crashing against the cliffs.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A rocky spot by the ocean with many unique views.

  • Best season: Any.

  • Best time of day: Any.

  • Nice to know: This spot is perfect on a stormy day or after a big storm, then you often have giant waves crashing against the cliffs. During low tide you also have the option of climbing into a small cave there.
