Standing at 628m, this viewing platform gives you great view of the surrounding fjords. You can drive most of the way up from Bolungarvík, with just a short walk to the top. The radar station has also become one of the symbols of Mt. Bolafjall.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A viewing platform on top of Mt. Bolafjall in the Westfjords.

  • Best season: Summer (the road is usually open from mid-June until mid-September, or when weather and road conditions allow).

  • Best time of day: Sunset is incredible there.

  • Nice to know: Even if it's an overcast or foggy day you might as well make the drive up there and see if you actually drive through the low clouds for some epic views of the surrounding mountain tops peaking through the clouds.
