This is probably the first natural pool in Iceland to become world famous. Which is very fitting since it's the oldest pool in Iceland - built in 1923 by a local man to teach Icelanders how to swim. To get to the pool, an easy 20-minute hike into a valley on the south coast will get you there from the designated parking lot. Once you arrive, you'll see the heated pool fed naturally by hot geothermal water. Beware that the changing rooms are most often pretty dirty and messy (and please don't add to that - and NO, they're not a toilet!).
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: The oldest swimming pool in Iceland, located on the south coast.
Best season: Any (but of course summer is going to be the most straight forward getting there).
Best time of day: Any.
Nice to know: The changing rooms are dirty and messy so don't expect anything fancy!
