The Krísuvíkurberg Cliffs are a pretty epic and located just 45km from Reykjavík (about an hour from the Keflavík airport). In summer, they become home to 60,000 migrating birds filling the cliffs with life. If you have time you can hike along the cliffs to the east until you reach a small lighthouse. And if it has been raining lately, go a little bit further and you'll find a waterfall running straight into the ocean.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: An epic cliff on the south side of Reykjanes.

  • Best season: Any.

  • Best time of day: Any (but sunset is beautiful there).

  • Nice to know: If you have time you can hike along the cliffs to the east until you reach a small lighthouse. And if it has been raining lately, go a little bit further and you'll find a waterfall running straight into the ocean.
