Jacobs Ladder is one of the unique and breathtaking roads in Tasmania. It's a great spot for photography with leading lines and dramatic cliffs. Given the orientation it's best shot at sunset but may night get light on the road at certain times of year. Constructed in the 1960s, the road is renowned for its steep hairpin curves and grand vista views from its top. Nowadays, drivers can experience Jacobs Ladder for themselves, however, it's not for the faint of heart - four wheel drives are recommended, and snow chains must be carried in the winter. Despite the steep inclines and lack of fencing along the road, adventurers can look forward to stunning scenery and a thought-provoking drive.
