These ruins are a fascinating remnant of Madeira's 15th century sugar cane industry, offering a glimpse into the island's history. The ruins are located at the bottom of the mountain, so there's a bit of a walk to reach it. It's a steep hill, so expect a cardio session on your way back up!

It's not entirely obvious how to get to this spot, as Google Maps directs you to an old road that is blocked. Head to the Cabo Aéreo Café Restaurant and park in the car park. From there, a steep walkway leads down to the ruins.
