This is a short and easy 1.5km trail that takes you through lush forests, leading to an epic balcony viewpoint overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and towering peaks like Pico do Arieiro. The PR11 Levada dos Balcões is perfect for a sunrise or sunset hike, with its easy terrian and central location.

As of January 1st 2025, Madeira requires tourists to pay a €3 hiking fee for recommended routes (PR trails), to help preserve the island's natural beauty and manage the growing number of tourists. if you do not pay you could be fined up to €50. Children under 12 and Madeira residents are exempt.
