Landmannalaugar is a stunning area in South Iceland, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant rhyolite mountains. Nestled in the heart of the Highlands, we absolutely loved our trip here. It's a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers, and we also saw a lot of campers here. The region has a unique mix of hot springs, colourful hills, and rugged lava fields, making it a fantastic mix of Icelandic wonders and nature. You can enjoy the many hiking trails before soaking in natural hot pools. The trails range from easy walks to challenging hikes, catering to all levels. You do need a 4x4 to get here, although there is one river crossing just before the campsite.
