The Titicaca Flamenco Lodge is a family-run Airbnb on the Uros Floating Islands. This was exactly the authentic experience we had hoped for on Lake Titicaca. The adventure began with a short boat ride (about 15 minutes) from a small port in Puno, where our hosts welcomed us and brought us out to their reed-built home on the lake.
The setting was serene and beautiful. We spent our afternoons lounging on the daybed outside on the deck, watching boats drift by and soaking up the sunset over the water. At night, the stars were incredible, with nothing but the sound of the lake around us.
What really made it special, though, was the family themselves. They were warm and welcoming, showing us around the lake and sharing their daily life with us. They also cooked us delicious homemade meals, which we enjoyed together overlooking the water. It felt personal, genuine, and unforgettable.
Pro Tip: Dress warmly! Nights on the lake are cold. Staying here is less about luxury and more about a true Uros experience, and that’s what makes it so memorable.
