There is a true sense of countryside charm and farmstead atmosphere about this place. You stay at the end of a gravel road, almost completely on your own - except for the rabbits, a few horses, small pigs, and sheep living right in the backyard. You can even spot them from the outdoor hot tub, which both children and adults found to be such a lovely little detail.

We stayed as two families in the holiday house Aagaard, and from morning to evening it was all about slow, cozy moments. Inside the spacious and welcoming house, where everything feels easy and comfortable, and outside, where the children could run freely and play in the large garden (complete with swings, sandbox, trampoline, and more). The house is bright, easy to settle into, and perfect for both small and larger groups. It’s the kind of place where shoulders drop and time feels wonderfully simple.

Ferie i naturen (Lisbeth & Benn’s) Best Insider Tips
🌿🥾 Visit Kærgård Plantage and follow the yellow trail to Gråmulebjerg - a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the plantation and the North Sea. Parking at Kærgårdvej 6A.
🐦 From the same parking area, you can visit some of the lovely bird towers at Filsø. It’s such a peaceful and scenic area — truly one of my personal favorite places.
🩱 Head to Nysø near Varde, a former gravel pit turned into a wonderful swimming spot. It feels safer than the North Sea, especially with children. There’s even a sauna you can book.
🍽️ Varde Ådal Lam has a charming farm shop with organic products. If you’re in the mood for a café visit, Ella’s Coffee Shop in Varde is wonderfully cozy.
☔️ Varde Svømmehal is great for both children and adults and you have free access when staying in the houses.
