Time to fish, take a nap in the hammock, play board games, cook over the campfire and simply be! We absolutely loved these three days, where we ended up just being here at Bakkegaarden. A true little glamping gem by the swimming and fishing lake.
To get here, you walk about 450 metres along a field path, which gives you that feeling of arriving right in the middle of an authentic little outdoor adventure! You reach thoughtfully set-up tents and a cosy campfire spot with a view of the lake. And having Lærke prepare such delicious homemade breakfast is the cherry on top.
We stayed in Camp Ræven (room for 4 people), the largest of the three tents and the one closest to the toilets and outdoor kitchen. When we went to sleep, we even heard foxes outside - such an amazing experience! Since our visit, they’ve also built Camp Aborren, where you can stay in a tent on the water! The other tents are perfect for couples, or for parent-child trips. Behind this little paradise are Lasse & Lærke, along with Lærke’s mother Anne - three warm-hearted souls who make it all happen.

Glamping at Bakkegaarden (Lærkes) best insider tips:
🌿✨ Our nature spot “Stjernekig” (“Star Gaze”). Have a look over the lake and watch for
birds during the day, and at night enjoy the most beautiful night sky. There are comfy
deck chairs and the nearby “nature house” where you can borrow binoculars and other
gear.
👙🩳 The lake with its bathing jetty and little “bathing house” - a perfect place to relax. You can even borrow robes for extra comfort.
🧁 Stenmaglehaven (just 3 km away). A stunning garden and home to the most delicious cakes.
🥾 Walk around Sorø Lake – a scenic route past boating spots, beautiful nature, Sorø Academy (where scenes from Carmen Curlers were filmed) and the Abbey Church. Along the way, you can admire old townhouses and stop for refreshments.
