Bramslevgaard may not be one of the tiny, quirky hideaways I usually write about, but somehow it still feels like stepping into a little fairytale. It’s personal, heartfelt, and wonderfully welcoming, which is exactly why I keep coming back.
In January 2022, a new family chapter began here when the Kartz family took over the keys to the beautiful historic place. And you can truly feel it. This is a place run with care, warmth, and genuine presence. New ideas and cosy events are always unfolding, especially around holidays like Easter and Christmas and children are not just welcome, they’re part of it.
During our stay, we stayed in one of the holiday apartments for 2-5 guests. It had a small kitchenette, a dining area, and a private bathroom, everything we needed for relaxed family time. Thomas and Carl slept upstairs in the double bed, while Walter and I stayed on the ground floor, which worked perfectly for us.
And then there’s the location… Right by the breathtaking Mariager Fjord (less than 500 meter) and is one of our absolute favourite corners of Denmark. Rolling hills, forest paths, and peaceful water views create the kind of setting where you instantly slow down. The large indoor trampoline hall was, unsurprisingly, a huge hit too.

Bramslevgaard’s Best Insider Tips
🌿 A little nature adventure: Follow the country path down to the fjord. In just a short walk, you’ll pass open fields, gentle hills, woodland trails, and finally the water’s edge. You might even spot cows grazing by the shoreline - it feels like stepping straight into a storybook.
🩱🌊 A wonderful swimming spot: Visit Sildehagen. There’s a circular pier with a platform at the end and steps into the water. Inside the circle, the water is shallow and calm. Perfect for little ones to splash safely. It’s also located along the scenic Panoramaruten.
🍦 Sweet treat stop: The small self-service ice cream hut at Stinesminde is a must on a sunny day.
🥾 Step straight into nature: Panorama loop trail begins right outside the door. Walk a little or walk it all. 10 km in total.
☔️ On a rainy day: Enjoy the hotel’s wellness area or a cosy lunch in the restaurant. Or take a short trip into Hobro for a cinema visit.
