Big cave! Great place to visit. Just before low tide is best.

Be smart/safe here folks!

Muriwai Grotto is a rad spot on Auckland's West Coast with epic cliff-top trails and a massive gannet colony. It's the perfect place to soak up some fresh ocean air, check out the black sand beach, and maybe even catch a glimpse of those majestic birds doing their thing.

Just a 45-minute drive from Auckland CBD,

Reviews:

'Looks really cool, also for pictures and you can down while low tide - just be aware that you have to be back at the cliffs on the side of the beach before the flood comes, if you don't wanna swim!' - Daniela, Google

'Nice area by the sea. there is a sea cave as well as the rocks which jut out into the ocean where a lot of people go fishing. There is the entrance to the gannet colony near the rocks' - Benedict, Google
