Lovely place to camp right by the beach 🥰

Otamure Bay (Whananaki) Campsite is a beachfront gem nestled in the Whananaki area of Northland. With 130 non-powered/tent sites surrounded by majestic pōhutukawa trees, it's the perfect spot to park up and soak up the coastal vibes. From swimming and fishing to exploring nearby reserves and hidden beaches, there's plenty to keep nature lovers entertained. Just remember to book online in advance, pack out your rubbish, and help protect the kauri trees by following the safety guidelines.

Reviews:

"Lovely place. Great views. Lovely staff. Sells camping essentials on reception. Sustainable worm composting bins. Yay. Showers are cold but lovely. The combination of regulations (no open fire cooking, cleaning fish forbidden etc) with no place to do so on site makes life a bit tricky when fishing. Tried cleaning/filleting on the beach but quite challenging in the surf, sandy fillets etc. Things to consider if you camp out of a small car: - Have to take most trash back home / be able to store in your vehicle for the entirety of your stay. Cans and food waste accepted. - No kitchen All in all a gloriously beautiful place." - Crusty, Google

"Love love love! Clean water, toilets and showers in great locations all around the campsite! Beautiful beach 30seconds away! Even the office had a little shop for all those little things needed while camping that everyone always seems to forget to bring haha! What more could we ask for, right? The two that managed the campsite (forgot their names, so sorry!) were absolutely amazing and made our experience a good one! We're definitely coming back! counting down the days 😁👌" - Squark, /google
