This waterfall is a beautiful spot for a swim and a relaxing picnic with the whanau. Located near Waiuku, this charming 6-meter-high horsetail waterfall is easy to reach and loved by locals. The pool at the base of the falls is deep enough for rock jumping, making it a fun spot for a refreshing dip.

You can access the reserve from the end of Waitangi Falls Road, so don’t forget your towel if you plan to swim. The falls are just a short stroll from the carpark, with grassy areas and picnic tables to enjoy. It's the perfect place to unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings. To get there, simply follow the hidden track from the carpark.

From a reviewer:

'Wonderful piece of nature, well maintained and preserved the nature. I visited in fist week of October and it was wonderful experience and left the place with the aim that will come again. There is eating setup with table and chair; one in park above the fall and one on the level of fall, so you can have wonderful experience there. Please be note camping is not allowed here.'

Hint: Check out Sandpit Reserve in Waiuku if you have extra time. It's just a short 10 minute drive and quite the hidden gem beach!
