The Church of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza is a Baroque masterpiece designed by Francesco Borromini in the 17th century.

Due to renovations and limited opening times, the interior is difficult to see. But it's worthwhile popping in to see its amazing courtyard and unique spire. Its spire is different from any other in Rome, resembling a spiral staircase.

The church's facade blends into the courtyard, which is lined by arched colonnades. And has an offset star pattern in the courtyard.

It's one of my favourite photo spots and is rarely visited by tourists.
