Another famous square is Centro Storico, Campo de' Fiori. Its name translates to 'field of flowers', as it was once a meadow.

It is an open-air market that sells fresh produce, flowers, leather goods, and edible souvenirs in the mornings from Monday to Saturday.

Campo de' Fiori is the only square in central Rome without a church. The piazza is dominated by a statue in the center of a man in a long dark cloak. Giordano Bruno was a philosopher who was martyred in 1600 for radical beliefs such as the universe being infinite and all religions peacefully coexisting.

The square is always accessible and free to visit. In the evening, it becomes a more lively area, with restaurants and bars in the piazza and nearby narrow streets.
