During my trip to Yamanashi, I visited a local farm that the locals love for its relaxed atmosphere and fantastic views of the Yatsugatake Mountain range. The farm was a perfect spot to unwind, surrounded by animals like sheep, cows, and horses grazing on the highland pastures. It felt like a slice of New Zealand, but with a distinctly Japanese twist, especially when Mt. Fuji appeared in the background.

I spent time exploring the farm, and I couldn’t resist trying the fresh soft serve ice cream and milk, both made from the farm’s own dairy. The taste was rich and creamy—definitely one of the highlights of my visit. The farm also offered delicious street food, which made for a perfect snack while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

The park even had a petting zoo, where I got to interact with the animals up close. And if you’re a foodie like me, you have to try the local specialty, Koshu wine beef, at the farm’s restaurant. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, thanks to the cattle’s unique diet that includes wine lees.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience that combined beautiful nature, delicious food, and a chance to support local farming initiatives. If you ever find yourself in Yamanashi, I highly recommend stopping by this farm for a truly memorable day out.
