The Kumano River Boat Tour offers a unique experience, taking you on a 90-minute journey along the same route that emperors and aristocrats once traveled during their pilgrimages. The boat tour starts at the Dorokyokaido Kumano-gawa River roadside station and ends at the riverbank near Kumano Hayatama Taisha Grand Shrine, with a knowledgeable guide narrating the history and natural features along the way, such as waterfalls and the bell-shaped Tsurigane-ishi Rock.

Prices for the tour are 4,950 yen for adults and 2,200 yen for children aged 4–12. Group discounts are available for 15 or more people. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes before departure, and note that the tours are only available for groups of 6 or more from December to February​.
