The Tower of the Sun (Taiyo no To) is one of the most striking and unforgettable landmarks in Osaka.
Standing tall in Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, this massive statue is impossible to miss and impressive even from a distance.

Its bold design makes it a perfect photo spot, whether you’re taking wide-angle shots from across the park or close-up photos that capture its powerful details. It’s unlike anything you’ll see elsewhere in Japan, which is part of what makes it so memorable.

You can freely enjoy and photograph the exterior, which takes around 30 minutes. Entering the inside of the tower is a separate experience and usually requires a timed-entry ticket booked in advance, especially on weekends.

The park is easily accessed from Banpaku-Kinen-Koen Station, and pairing your visit with a relaxed walk around the spacious grounds makes this an easy and enjoyable stop.

Tip: Visit early in the day or on a weekday for clearer views and fewer people in your photos.
