Black lava beach with history

Djúpalónssandur beach is a stunning black lava pearl beach on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West-Iceland. With its smooth black pebbles, unique rock formations like the Singing Rock and Kerling the Troll Woman, and the tragic remnants of the British trawler Epine GY7, it's a place filled with history and folklore. Visitors can explore the beautiful surroundings, but should be cautious of the powerful sea suction and show respect for the elf churches and hidden people believed to inhabit the area.
