Skull Rock is one of the most famous and recognizable natural rock formations in Joshua Tree National Park, California. As its name suggests, the rock formation bears a striking resemblance to a human skull, complete with hollowed eye sockets and a prominent nose-like protrusion.

Skull Rock is located along the main road of Joshua Tree National Park, known as Park Boulevard. It's easily accessible and is situated between the North and West entrances of the park, making it a popular stop for visitors exploring the park.

Like many other rock formations in Joshua Tree National Park, Skull Rock is composed of large granite boulders and rocks. It was shaped over millions of years through a combination of erosion, weathering, and the unique geological processes that have shaped the park's landscape.

You can easily view Skull Rock from the road, and there's a small parking area nearby, making it a convenient and accessible stop for park visitors. The rock formation is just a short walk from the parking area, and you can get up close to appreciate its unique features.
