Prepare to be amazed by Takakkaw Falls, it's the second highest waterfalls in Canada, located in Yoho National Park in British Columbia.

The name Takakkaw comes from a Cree word meaning “magnificent,” which perfectly describes the sight of this powerful waterfall plunging 373 meters (1,224 ft) down a sheer rock face. The upper drop alone is about 254 meters (833 ft), fed by meltwater from the Daly Glacier high above the Yoho Valley.

From the parking area, a short 10–15 minute walk on a mostly flat paved trail brings you close to the base of the falls, where you can feel the mist from the roaring water crashing below.

The drive to the falls is part of the experience itself: Yoho Valley Road climbs through the forest with several tight switchbacks, including one famously designed to accommodate buses that reverse around the corner. The road is typically open from late June to October, depending on snow conditions.
