Baker Creek Mountain Resort is one of those hidden gems along the Bow Valley Parkway that feels way more secluded than most places in Banff.

I actually used to work here as well before the Restaurant burned down and it’s a completely different vibe compared to staying in town — much quieter, more nature-focused, and tucked right along the Bow River.

It’s located about 10 minutes from Lake Louise and 45 minutes from Banff, so you’ll definitely need a car to get around and explore the area.

The resort itself is all about cozy cabins and lodge-style stays, making it perfect if you want that classic mountain experience.

You can walk right down to the river, use the complimentary bikes or canoes in summer, or in winter go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or just hang out by the fire pits. There’s also a restaurant on-site, so you don’t always have to leave.

It’s not a luxury resort in the typical sense — it’s more about the setting and the experience. Quiet mornings, wildlife around, and easy access to some of the best spots in Banff without actually staying in the busy town.

If you’re looking for something more peaceful and local-feeling, this is a really solid option.
