If you’re visiting Titisee Lake in Germany’s Black Forest, renting a boat from Tretboot is such a fun way to see the lake from a whole new perspective. You can choose between pedal boats or motor boats, and rent them for 30 or 60 minutes—plenty of time for a little adventure without committing to a full day.

The pedal boats (1–4 people) are €8 for 30 minutes or €15 for an hour. The motor boats (1–5 people) are €22 for 30 minutes or €40 for an hour. All of them have a cover overhead so you can still enjoy the ride even if there’s a light drizzle.

We went with the pedal boats and loved it as a family—it was relaxing but also a mini workout. Since pedaling takes a little time, we stayed fairly close to shore, which meant the kids could still spot ducks, wave at people on the dock, and check out the shops along the lakeside. It was one of those slow, happy moments where no one was in a rush, and the lake views were just stunning.
