The German Transport Museum is a fantastic spot for families who love all things trains, planes, and automobiles. Located in southern Germany, it’s packed with cool vintage vehicles and interactive exhibits that make learning about the history of transportation fun for kids and grown-ups alike.
We didn’t have time to visit on our trip—definitely one of those places we wish we’d made room for!
Family tips if you go:
The museum is stroller-friendly, but some areas can be busy, so a lightweight stroller works best.
Tickets are affordable, usually around €8 for adults and discounted rates for kids and families—check their website for current prices and any special family deals.
Plan for a few hours to really explore everything, especially if your kids love hands-on exhibits.
There’s a café onsite where you can take a break and refuel.
If you have transport-loving kids or just want a fun, educational day, this museum is definitely worth adding to your Munich itinerary.
