Vier Jahreszeiten am Schluchsee is a total win for families—a cozy, welcoming hotel tucked into the gorgeous Southern German countryside near the sparkling Schluchsee lake. It’s got all the comfort and charm you’d want for a relaxing getaway, but what makes it extra special is just how kid-focused it is.

There’s a huge activity hall that feels like a dream come true for kids—bounce houses, slides, foosball, games, tennis courts, and more. They even have a kids’ club, where we dropped off our 4-year-old for a couple of hours while the baby napped and we enjoyed some quiet time. Even though the staff spoke limited English, our little one had the best time and didn’t want to leave. They’ll even feed your child lunch while they’re there—completely free of charge!

One of my favorite touches? The little playroom right off the dining room, so kids can play happily while adults actually finish their meals. There’s also a kids’ section in the pool for safe splashing and swimming, and every day the kids get tiny gummy bear treats on their pillows—a small but magical detail that ours looked forward to daily.

With spacious rooms, beautiful lake views, and plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained, this is the kind of place where everyone gets a real vacation.
