Welcome to Aoraki National Park!
This 2-night, 3-day road trip itinerary is designed for anyone looking to spend a long weekend in one of my favourite corners of the country.
I've visited Aoraki/Mount Cook twice and have fallen completely in love. You'll see why as soon as you visit. There are mountain views as far as the eye can see, and if you're lucky, you'll be treated to good weather and have the chance to experience the most incredible hikes, like Sealey Tarns.
Why should you visit Aoraki/Mount Cook for 3 days?
A lot of travellers visit Aoraki for the day. But I genuinely believe you should stay here overnight.
It's such a bucket list experience, and you never know when you'll be back here! You might as well maximise your experience while you can.
However, before you begin planning your holiday, there are a few things you should be aware of.
Know before you go
You MUST pre-book all your activities to avoid missing out on bucket list experiences. This includes:
Return car/campervan hire from Queenstown Airport (books out months in advance)
Accommodation at Hermitage or White Horse Hill (books out weeks in advance)
Reservations at Hermitage Hotel's restaurants (books out weeks in advance)
Scenic flights (book out weeks in advance)
