Queenstown, where do we start... one of our favourite places in the whole world & 100% the most picturesque & best place we have ever lived, so lets get into it!

Of course we'd reccomend sticking around here for as long as possible or even for the Ski season, however if time isn't on your side then allow 2/3 nights to see this beautiful town on the shores of Lake Wakitipu (If your planning on doing a tour to Milford Sound allow an extra day in QT).

This is the backpacker's haven, full of adrenline junkies & like minded travellers who all want to experience what Queenstown has to offer. That being said you won't go far without seeing bars, resturants & takeaways, which all add to a magical atmosphere in the evenings. Due to the popularity with younger people you will find food & drink alot cheaper here than elsewhere in the country.

You can't visit Queenstown without trying out the local's favourite which is Fergburger & wow it doesn't dissapoint!

If you are planning on staying in Queenstown for an extended period of time then plan ahead because 70% of accomodations here are rentals & they go fast! Due to that accomodation is more expensive here, so if your on a budget then head to the many hostels around the town (tip: some hostels will give you a discounted rate if you plan to stay for numerous weeks).

For those Lord of the Rings fans, Queenstown is also where you will find numerous shooting locations in all 3 films (there are plenty of websites which show you).

Best hikes in Queenstown:

Ben Lomond (all day, fantastic views over Lake Wakitipu & Queenstown, good trail but need fitness to do this one & can be completed all year round).

Queenstown Hill Walking Track (allow a few hours for this, but has some amazing views over Queenstown & the surrounding mountains.

Activities: Bungee jump (AJ Hackett) Skiing ( the Remarkables ski field or Coronet Peak) Mountain Biking (Skyline Queenstown) Wine tours ( Gibbstone Valley, Otago) Jet Boating ( Shotover Jet) Shark Submarine ( Hydro Attack) White Water rafting (Real NZ) Kayaking Paragliding Parasailing Scenic Flights Steamboat

So, yeah theres a hell of alot to do! However, a free activity to do whilst your there is watch a sunset, Queenstown has the most stunning sunsets over the Remarkable mountains, with candy floss skies & perfect for any photos!

We hope this helps with you next visit to Queenstown & if you have any questions then please reach out!
