Just a 45 minute drive from Queenstown you will discover Glenorchy, a small town also situated on Lake Wakitipu & equally as beautiful but less touristy than Queenstown.

Here you can take several hikes, go paddle boarding, swim in the lake & discover the quaint but cute town of Glenorchy. One of the main reasons to visit however is the stunning & I really mean stunning, drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy, which you can see in the first picture. This route provides plenty of overnight camping spots, as well as sceninc lookouts for picture opportunities.

A location which is missed by a lot of travellers, Glenorchy is a must visit in our opinion & there is options for tours.

Please note there are limited shops in Glenorchy so please rememeber to buy your food & drink in Queenstown beforehand.
