Queenstown is full of scenic hikes which can be completed throughout the year, however arguably the most famous & best hike in our opinion is Ben Lomond.

This full day hike will take you anywhere from 4-8 hours depending on your fitness & the routes you take, however this should definetly be on your Queenstown bucket list because the views are out of this world.

After only a few hours you are greeted with sights of the Remarkable mountain range & Queenstown below, this is a special place to watch the sunset & take in the beautiful sights on show.

There are two ways in which you can get to the top of Ben Lomand, the easiest is taking the Gondola, which isn't the cheapest & will only save you 2 hours at best, theres still a long way until you reach the top.

The main way however is to start right in the center of town & walk to the end of Brecon Street, here you will see the signs for the hike & start your journey. Along this path you will walk past the Mountain Bike tracks (don't worry it is very safe) & after a few hours it will totally be worth it for the views.

You can walk up Ben Lomond in the winter but please be careful because the path isn't always visable so never attempt the hike when it's snowing.

If you are an adrenaline junkie then bring your skis up & you can ski off the mountain just before you reach the top. It's common to see people skiing down the actually track!

Remember to take your camera, plenty of water & proper walking boots, this hike is best completed with a lovely pint afterwards in one of the many bars in Queenstown!
