This 7‑day Vancouver Island road trip is built from my own lived experience growing up on the Island, and it’s designed for travelers who want a mix of coastal towns, forests, waterfalls, and small local spots rather than just racing between “must‑see” checklists. You’ll start in Victoria with time to actually enjoy the Inner Harbour, Beacon Hill Park, Cook Street Village, and Dallas Road sunsets before easing west along Highway 14 through Sooke, Shirley, Jordan River, and the Juan de Fuca beaches.

From there, you’ll work your way up‑Island past lakes, rivers, and waterfalls through places like Englishman River Falls, Little Qualicum Falls, Coombs, Cathedral Grove, and Port Alberni before heading out to Tofino or Ucluelet for Pacific Rim National Park, the Rainforest Trail, Long Beach, and the Wild Pacific Trail. I’ve woven in my favourite cafés, bakeries, swim spots, and lookout points along the way, plus options for short hikes, sunset beaches, and extra days if you have 7–10 days instead of just a week.

This route is flexible whether you arrive by ferry into Victoria or Nanaimo, and it includes driving times, suggested stop lengths, and gentle reminders to travel respectfully, support small businesses, and leave no trace. If you follow it, you’ll spend more time actually experiencing Vancouver Island—and less time wondering where to go next.
