Shiraito Falls passes the test of being one of Japan’s most beautiful waterfalls. Located in the southwestern foothills of Mount Fuji, this waterfall flows off a 20 meter high cliff with white streams resembling silk threads - hence its name! Visitors can reach the base of the waterfall via a walking trail and enjoy views of Otodome Falls, a 25 meter column of water, along their way. The area is especially stunning during spring when the waterfalls are full with snow melt from Mount Fuji, making it ideal for photography and sightseeing. For an extra immersive experience, visitors may even choose to stay overnight at a nearby ryokan.
