Sacred waterfall next to a temple. Popular for "waterfall meditation" which entails meditating while standing under the falling water.

Kiyotaki Falls is a 40-metre tall waterfall located in the Kuju Mountains of Taketa, Oita Prefecture, Japan. From the parking lot, visitors can take a 10 minute walk through the forest to the basin of the falls where they can experience the stunning sight of water seeping out from the cliff and cascading down the mountainous landscape. During winter, the area is transformed into a magical wonderland of gorgeous ice sculptures that lend a mysterious beauty to the setting. In the summertime, the misting effect of the water combined with the lush greenery make it ideal for a refreshing outing. A platform overlooking the basin allows guests to enjoy the gentle rains of droplets that fall from the waterfall.
