The Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway offers an effortless and quick way to access Kurodake in Daisetsuzan National Park. With the ropeway, you can easily reach the 5th station at 1,300 meters, where stunning views await. From there, you have the option to hike further or take a chair lift up to the 7th station at 1,520 meters, immersing yourself even deeper into the breathtaking scenery.

I visited in the summer of 2021, and the sight of the mountains draped in lush green with streaks of lingering snow was unforgettable. June and July are ideal months to witness this unique contrast of seasons, but the autumn colors in September are equally captivating, painting the landscape in vibrant reds and yellows.
