What's there to say about Durdle Door.. well its a classic, nobody is going to doubt that. This natural arch located on Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast is one of the most recognisable sights in the UK... but with that accolade comes a downside, and that downside is overcrowding...
If you are intent on seeing it to see what all the hype is about then head there whenever you can and take in the views, as it is honestly beautiful. But be warned, this stretch of coast from Lulworth Cove the Durdle Door can get very busy, especially in the summer. And so, if like us, you're not a massive fan of really crowded tourist spots either wait until off season or head there at the crack of dawn.
To get there follow the coastal path from Lulworth Cove, where there is a car park or bus stop. The walk along the cliff top is around 30 minutes to the top and roughly another 15 if you want to actually head down to the beach.
From the top there are several spectacular view points from which to take in the beach and iconic rock formation below. And if you are wanting to extend the experience there is also a loop walk that will take around 2 hours (see link below).
