Arguably, New Zealand’s most famous patch of sand, Cathedral Cove is renowned for its picture-perfect archway framing a stunning beach of white sand and emerald waters. You'll have to park at the carpark in Hahei and pay for the shuttle to the start of the track (or walk from Hahei carpark to the start point - an extra 2km).
It gets super busy in summer, but if you want to experience the beach without the crowds you can walk in for sunrise when it will be MUCH quieter but you'll have to walk the extra 2km from the Hahei carpark in the dark.
Extra info:
Walking distance: 2.5km return from the start of the walking track
Walking time: Approx 1.5hrs return
