Lakes Entrance is one of those little coastal towns that just kinda charms you — even if the weather’s a bit average (which it was when we came through!). We stopped in to stretch the legs and ended up staying longer than we planned. Got ourselves some bloody delish oysters and sipped Aperols by the river — proper treat-yourself moment, even with a grey sky overhead.

The beach is just over the footbridge and it’s a lovely spot for a wander, or even a quick dip if the sun’s out. There’s a stack of op shops too if you’re into a rummage (which I always am), and it’s got that easygoing, down-to-earth vibe that makes you wanna slow down a bit.

Great little stop on the drive if you’re doing the East Coast — not sure if it’s super pet-friendly down by the main eateries, but you can definitely take the pup for a walk along the water. Just one of those wholesome, feels-like-home kinda places.
