Gibson Steps is the spot if you want that iconic photo—standing on the beach with a towering Apostle in the background, hazy golden light spilling through. If you’ve ever seen those dreamy coastal shots from the Great Ocean Road, chances are they were taken here.
Unlike the Twelve Apostles lookout (which is all about gazing from above), Gibson Steps lets you get right down onto the sand, making you feel tiny next to those massive limestone stacks. But fair warning—it’s all tide-dependent. If the swell’s up or the tide’s high, the beach might not be accessible, so check before you go!
Not pet-friendly (national park rules), but still an absolute must-do if you’re chasing a killer photo or just want to take in the sheer size of these cliffs without a hundred selfie sticks in your face.
