The Tossenseeli is a peaceful mountain lake located above Adelboden, just a short hike from the Engstligenalp plateau. Surrounded by rocky slopes and alpine meadows, this small lake offers a stunning panorama and a true sense of tranquility.

You can reach the Engstligenalp either by cable car from Unter dem Birg (Adelboden) or by hiking up if you’re looking for a challenge. From the top station, follow the trail toward Tossenseeli, which takes about 1–1.5 hours one way. The path winds through a beautiful high-alpine landscape, often dotted with wildflowers in summer and golden hues in autumn.

My personal tip: Visit in late summer or early autumn when the air is crisp, the slopes glow in warm colors, and the lake is at its calmest. If you’re lucky, you might spot marmots along the trail or hear their whistling calls echoing across the valley. The soft afternoon light creates perfect reflections and a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere for photography.
