The Jöriseen are a breathtaking group of turquoise alpine lakes located near the Flüela Pass above Davos. Surrounded by rugged peaks and glaciers, these high-altitude lakes offer one of the most impressive mountain panoramas in eastern Switzerland. The trail starts from the top of the Flüela Pass and climbs steadily through rocky terrain, past small streams and alpine meadows, until the first shimmering lake appears below you.

It’s a demanding hike, but every step rewards you with unforgettable views. On clear days, the colors of the lakes range from deep blue to milky turquoise, caused by glacial minerals in the water.

My personal tip: Visit during golden hour or sunset, the light transforms the landscape, and the lakes glow in surreal shades of gold and blue. It’s one of those places that feels almost unreal when the last light hits the peaks and reflections shimmer across the water.
