Eighty Mile Beach is the perfect spot to stop-over when heading to/from Broome. I always stop here when driving along the top-end, either down the beach or the nearby rest area on the highway.

The sand is quite soft (other than the entrance, so just get some speed on the ramp), but I drove Hurley (2WD van) on the beach with no issues. I'd recommend driving down the beach as far as you are comfortable to escape the crowds and really enjoy the tranquility - especially at sunset! Just note this beach is very tidal, so be aware of the tides!

The beach boasts the most incredible shells I have ever seen, so if you're into shells save this spot!!
