South Beach in Freo is where the vibe is at – especially if you’re a traveller or backpacker keen to meet some like-minded legends. The carpark is super social, with vans, cars, and campers all parked up, and everyone just hanging out and chatting. It’s the kind of place where you’ll end up meeting new mates without even trying.

The beach itself is stunning, with soft sand and calm waters, making it perfect for a dip or a lazy day in the sun. But the real magic happens as the day winds down. There’s a drum circle that kicks off regularly, and it’s honestly such a vibe – people jamming, dancing, and soaking up the chilled-out energy as the sun sets. I believe it's officially organised every full moon, but smaller circles are super often.

South Beach is pet-friendly too, so you’ll see lots of dogs living their best lives – always a bonus if you’re missing your furry mate from home! If you’re staying in Fremantle, it’s super close and easy to get to, so definitely head down and soak up the good vibes.
