Experience these amazing waterfalls and the bouncy suspension bridge, which I found to be quite an adventure. If you visit, you have to walk across that bridge.
📸 As you can see in the photos, moody weather here is beautiful, so don't limit yourself to visiting only on sunny days. When we went at the beginning of July, the terrain was quite muddy, but I enjoyed it—it was actually fun.
HOW TO GET THERE:
By car: Drive to Weisstannen village (about 1 hour and 25 minutes from Zurich). Park your car here. You can also find the toilets by following the signs.
By bus: Take a train to Sargans train station, then take bus 432 to Weisstannen, Oberdorf.
NOTE: After leaving the highway, there's a 10 km drive. The first 2 km of the road are quite narrow but then it widens to accommodate two cars. This is the route our navigation led us to. There is also a wider road used by buses, but you have to drive through the city. This information might seem odd to some, but I wish I knew it before going, especially here in Switzerland.
🥾 There is only one way to reach the waterfalls: a 4.2 km hike that takes about 1.5 hours. The path is marked in red, and some parts are steep. Expect a 520 m elevation gain.
Once you reach the waterfalls, don't forget to hike for about 10 minutes to the viewpoint overlooking them. When you face the waterfalls, the suspension bridge is on your right, but you need to hike to the left. This is a must. Just follow the signs towards Pizolhütte.
